Senior SAP PP/MM Functional Consultant
ABB Global Industries and Services Private Limited
2 years INR 462500 - 600000 per yearly Bengaluru
Full time

Job Title: Senior SAP PP/MM Functional Consultant Company: ABB Global Industries and Services Private Limited Job Category: SAP MM Roles & Responsibilities: At ABB, we help industries run leaner and cleaner—and every person here makes that happen. You’ll be empowered to lead, supported to grow, and proud of the impact we create together. Join us and help run what runs the world. IS Manager Your role and responsibilities: In this position, you will serve as the senior owner of production planning and materials management for our SAP ECC environment. You will clear a growing PP/MM enhancement backlog and deliver production planning for the retirement of our legacy Infor manufacturing systems, KBM and LX, plant by plant. This position calls for direct execution: you build what you plan and coordinate outside consultants when in-house capacity is stretched. Here, done means the plant is planning in SAP. A signed-off blueprint, a released transport or a closed ticket is not done. The work model for the role is: Hybrid #hybrid (minimum three days per week in the office) This role is contributing to the Installation Products Division of the Electrification business area in North America. Main stakeholders are plant planners, schedulers and buyers, the Operations Domain Lead and Operations Lead PP, external consulting partners, and our S/4HANA Public Cloud team in Europe * Clearing the PP/MM backlog - owning enhancements and APTs in production planning and materials management from requirement to working solution in the plant, prioritized with the Operations Domain Lead and closed on the dates you commit. * Delivering production planning for the KBM/LX conversion - capturing how each plant really plans, including the spreadsheets nobody has written down and the knowledge of experts close to retirement. Then designing and configuring the SAP target, converting BOMs, routings and planning master data, and taking each plant through testing, cutover and hypercare. * Getting planning strategies right - MTS, MTO, ETO and CTO, variant configuration and requirements consumption designed for how each product family is actually built and sold. * Directing external consultants without being their manager - scoping the work, tracking progress, reviewing configuration and specifications before they go live, and closing the work properly. You own the outcome even when you do not do every part of the delivery yourself. * Using AI aggressively, inside and outside SAP - for analysis, configuration research, legacy data and code reading, test scenarios and documentation, including the agentic AI platforms for SAP the team is adopting - and showing the team what works. * Supporting the plants and S/4HANA - solving production-impacting planning issues fast, with workarounds the plant can live with while the root cause is fixed. Providing support for our S/4HANA Public Cloud operations in Europe as needed, while helping prepare our primary ECC system for the move to S/4HANA through PP/MM knowledge. All of this within change control, segregation of duties and governance, including what AI tools are allowed to see. You will join a streamlined Operations team that follows a few simple rules. Done means in use. If you are blocked, find another route the same day, inside the rules. Go and see: the answer is usually on the shop floor or in the planner’s spreadsheet. Something small delivered this week beats something complete next quarter. AI is expected, and “I don’t know, here is how I will find out” is a good answer here. You will have no direct reports. People in this role can grow into ownership of production planning design, leadership of plant rollouts, or an Operations value stream position. ABB Installation Products Division (formerly Thomas&Betts), helps manage the connection, protection and distribution of electrical power from source to socket. The Division’s products are engineered to provide ease of installation and perform in demanding and harsh conditions, helping to ensure safety and continuous operation for utilities, businesses and people around the world. The Commercial Essentials product segment includes electrical junction boxes, commercial fittings, strut and cable tray metal framing systems for commercial and residential construction. The Premier Industrial product segment includes multiple product lines, such as Ty-Rap® cable ties, T&B Liquidtight Systems® protection products, PVC coated and nylon conduit systems, power connection and grounding systems, and cable protection systems of conduits and fittings for harsh and industrial applications. Manufacturing includes made-to-stock and custom-made solutions. Work Location: Bengaluru, India Availability: Full time
