Job Description
Job Title: Digital Campaign Lead
Company: United Workers Union
Job Category: Digital Marketing
Roles & Responsibilities:
With new leadership comes renewed purpose, fresh energy and a clear ambition: to build the strongest organising union in Australia that wins for workers.
We are looking for a passionate, driven and values\-based Digital Campaign Lead who wants to be part of one of Australia’s largest and most influential unions. The roles are based in any major capital city and are offered on a full\-time ongoing basis.
We believe unions are strongest when members lead.
We do this by pulling every lever to build worker power – growing membership, developing workplace leaders, supporting delegates, organising collective action and campaigning for better wages, safer workplaces and fairer communities, including campaigning both politically and in the community. The United Workers Union is proudly affiliated with the Australian Labor Party.
As we move into our next chapter, we are investing in growing our organising capability, developing our people and strengthening member\-led campaigns across the country.
As a Digital Campaign Lead, you will work alongside members to build workplace power and deliver meaningful outcomes. This role is about far more than resolving workplace issues. It is about empowering organisers to lead, building sustainable workplace strength and helping shape the future of our Union.
This is more than a lead role. You will help shape campaigns, enforce workplace rights and contribute to winning lasting improvements for members across Australia.
Your main responsibilities will be to:
* Strategy \& Planning: Develop and execute digital strategies and multi\-channel campaigns (search, social, email, and display) aligned with union goals.
* SEO \& SEM: Drive organic visibility through keyword research and website optimisation, and manage cost\-effective paid search (PPC) campaigns.
* Social Media \& Community Building: Create compelling content for Facebook, Instagram, X (Twitter), and LinkedIn to boost engagement, mobilisation, and long\-term member growth.
* Email \& Content Marketing: Design targeted email campaigns and collaborate with creators to produce shareable assets (blogs, videos, and case studies) that resonate with workers.
* Brand, Reputation \& Crisis Support: Protect and enhance UWU’s brand identity, monitor online sentiment, and support timely crisis communications.
* Analytics \& Reporting: Track key performance indicators (KPIs)—including traffic, engagement, conversion rates, and ROI—using analytics tools like Google Analytics.
* Collaboration \& Innovation: Partner across UWU portfolios for cohesive messaging, liaise with external vendors, stay current on digital trends, and experiment with new formats.
To perform this job, you will also be required to have or obtain and maintain:
* Competitive salary and generous employment conditions;
* A motor vehicle or motor vehicle allowance;
* 16% superannuation;
* 6 weeks annual leave plus 25% leave loading;
* Flexible work arrangements;
* Supportive leadership committed to developing people;
* A diverse, inclusive and values driven workplace;
* The opportunity to make a genuine difference in workers’ lives.
