Job Title: Technical Project Manager – Generative AI Company: NorthBay Solutions Job Category: Machine Learning Roles & Responsibilities: Technical Project Manager – Generative AI ============================================= About the Role We are seeking an experienced Technical Project Manager – Generative AI to lead the planning, execution, and delivery of enterprise\-scale AI/ML initiatives, with a particular focus on Generative AI solutions. The ideal candidate will combine strong project and program management capabilities with a solid understanding of AI technologies, including Large Language Models (LLMs), Natural Language Processing (NLP), Retrieval\-Augmented Generation (RAG), and machine learning systems. The successful candidate will act as a bridge between business stakeholders, product teams, data scientists, AI engineers, and software development teams, ensuring that technical solutions align with business objectives and are delivered within agreed timelines, budgets, and quality standards. The role also requires effective management of project risks, stakeholder expectations, AI governance, and cross\-functional delivery activities. Key Responsibilities ------------------------ * Lead end\-to\-end Generative AI and AI/ML projects, from requirements gathering and planning through development, deployment, and adoption. * Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, timelines, resource requirements, and success criteria in collaboration with stakeholders. * Translate business requirements into clear technical specifications and actionable project plans for AI and engineering teams. * Coordinate solution design and implementation involving LLMs, NLP, RAG pipelines, and multimodal AI technologies. * Manage cross\-functional teams comprising AI engineers, data scientists, software developers, cloud engineers, and business stakeholders. * Oversee project schedules, budgets, resource allocation, dependencies, risks, and change requests to ensure successful delivery. * Facilitate Agile/Scrum activities, including sprint planning, backlog prioritization, daily stand\-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives. * Monitor project progress, KPIs, milestones, deliverables, and quality metrics, providing regular status reports to senior management. * Ensure AI initiatives align with organizational requirements for security, data privacy, responsible AI, governance, and regulatory compliance. * Coordinate AI model development, testing, fine\-tuning, deployment, monitoring, and ongoing improvement activities. * Manage stakeholder communication and expectations, resolving delivery challenges and facilitating timely decision\-making. * Identify project risks, develop mitigation strategies, and proactively address technical and operational dependencies. * Collaborate with business and technical teams to ensure AI solutions meet functional requirements, performance expectations, and business objectives. * Support client engagements, solution presentations, proposals, and pre\-sales activities when required. * Drive continuous improvement in project delivery processes, team collaboration, and AI implementation practices. * Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field. * 10–12\+ years of professional experience in IT project management, technical program management, or technology delivery. * 1-3 years of experience managing AI/ML\-related projects, preferably involving Generative AI, LLMs, NLP, or enterprise AI solutions. * Proven track record of delivering complex technology projects within agreed timelines, budgets, and quality standards. * Strong understanding of the AI/ML lifecycle, including model development, training, fine\-tuning, deployment, evaluation, and monitoring. * Working knowledge of Generative AI technologies, including LLMs, RAG architectures, vector databases, and AI\-powered applications. * Familiarity with frameworks and platforms such as LangChain, Hugging Face, OpenAI APIs, and related AI development tools. * Experience with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including their AI/ML services. * Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies and project management tools such as Jira and Confluence. * Experience in project planning, risk management, budgeting, resource allocation, stakeholder management, and reporting. * Knowledge of AI governance, responsible AI principles, data privacy, security, and ethical AI practices. * Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, problem\-solving, and decision\-making skills. * Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to business stakeholders and senior management. * Project management certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, or relevant Agile certifications. * Cloud and AI/ML certifications from Microsoft Azure, AWS, Google Cloud, or equivalent providers. * Experience managing enterprise\-scale Generative AI implementations and digital transformation initiatives. * Exposure to AI solution architecture, LLM integration, RAG implementation, and AI application deployment. * Experience working with government, financial services, or other highly regulated sectors. * Familiarity with AI quality assurance, model evaluation, performance monitoring, and Responsible AI assessment processes. * Experience supporting client presentations, solution proposals, and pre\-sales engagements.
