SMT Equipment Maintenance Engineer

Job Title: SMT Equipment Maintenance Engineer Company: Cyient Job Category: SAP MM Roles & Responsibilities: Key Responsibilities Line Support & Uptime Improvement * Provide real-time technical support to SMT production lines. * Minimize downtime and ensure quick machine recovery. * Maintain MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures) and MTTR (Mean Time To Repair) targets. * Develop and execute preventive maintenance schedules. * Maintain maintenance records and logs. * Ensure calibration of critical equipment. * Support installation, setup, and qualification of new SMT equipment. * Coordinate with vendors during machine installation and upgrades. * Analyze recurring issues and implement corrective actions. * Suggest improvements for machine efficiency and yield enhancement. * Participate in continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, Six Sigma). Spare Parts & Inventory Management * Manage critical spare parts inventory. * Coordinate with procurement for timely availability of parts. * Optimize inventory to reduce costs without affecting uptime. * Maintain SOPs, work instructions, and maintenance checklists. * Ensure compliance with ESD, safety, and quality standards (ISO, IPC). Qualifications * Bachelors Degree / Diploma in: Electronics Engineering / Electrical Engineering / Mechatronics or related field Experience * 2 years of experience in SMT equipment maintenance in an EMS environment. * Hands-on experience with major SMT machine brands. Technical Skills * Strong knowledge of SMT processes and equipment. * Ability to read electrical schematics and mechanical drawings. * Experience with PLCs, sensors, servo systems, and vision systems. * Familiarity with IPC standards (e.g., IPC-A-610).
