Job Title: Senior Automation Engineer – Salesforce & Copado Company: Inspired Testing Job Category: Salesforce Roles & Responsibilities: About the Role The successful candidate will play a key role in designing, developing and maintaining scalable test automation frameworks across Salesforce applications, while leveraging Copado DevOps to support continuous testing, deployment validation and reliable software delivery. Key Responsibilities * Design, develop, implement and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks for Salesforce applications. * Build comprehensive automated regression, functional, integration, end\-to\-end and smoke test suites. * Automate complex Salesforce business processes across Sales Cloud, Service Cloud and applicable Salesforce products. * Validate Salesforce Lightning Experience, Lightning Web Components, custom objects, Flows, validation rules and approval processes. * Develop reusable, scalable and maintainable automation components. * Ensure appropriate automation coverage across critical business workflows and Salesforce integrations. * Investigate test failures, identify root causes and resolve automation\-related issues. * Continuously improve automation reliability, efficiency and execution speed. * Utilise Copado DevOps to support Salesforce deployment and release management processes. * Integrate automated testing into Copado pipelines and continuous delivery workflows. * Implement automated quality checks and deployment validation processes. * Support Salesforce release testing across multiple environments. * Collaborate with Salesforce Developers and DevOps Engineers to resolve deployment\-related defects. * Support version control, branching strategies and release management best practices. * Contribute to improving deployment quality, stability and release confidence. * Design and execute automated API tests for Salesforce integrations. * Validate REST and SOAP API functionality, data exchange and system integrations. * Perform backend data validation using SOQL and other appropriate techniques. * Verify data integrity, business rules and integration workflows. * Identify and investigate defects across interconnected systems. * Develop reusable API automation utilities and validation scripts. * Proven hands\-on experience as a Senior Automation Engineer, SDET or Senior Quality Engineer. * Strong practical experience in Salesforce test automation. * Hands\-on experience with Copado DevOps, including Salesforce deployment and release workflows. * Strong understanding of Salesforce architecture, configurations and customisation. * Experience testing Salesforce Lightning Experience, Flows, validation rules, objects and integrations. * Advanced experience designing, developing and maintaining automation frameworks. * Strong programming skills in Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, Python or a comparable language. * Hands\-on experience with a relevant automation tool such as Selenium, Playwright, Provar or Copado Robotic Testing. * Experience with API automation and integration testing. * Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines. * Knowledge of Git, version control and branching strategies. * Experience with SOQL and Salesforce data validation. * Strong debugging, troubleshooting and root\-cause analysis capabilities. * Solid understanding of Agile methodologies, software development lifecycles and quality engineering principles. * Excellent communication, collaboration and problem\-solving skills. Essential Skills \& Experience Advantageous Skills \& Experience * Experience with Provar or Copado Robotic Testing. * Salesforce certifications, such as Platform Administrator or Platform App Builder. * Copado DevOps certifications. * Knowledge of Apex and Lightning Web Components. * Experience with Salesforce DX. * Experience with BDD frameworks such as Cucumber. * Familiarity with Jenkins, GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps. * Experience working in large\-scale enterprise Salesforce environments. * Experience mentoring automation engineers and providing technical leadership. Qualifications A relevant qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field is advantageous. Equivalent practical experience will also be considered.
