SAP BTP Developer

We are hiring for this role on a PAN India basis. Eligible candidates from anywhere in India are encouraged to apply. We are looking for a senior SAP BTP Developer with 10-15+ years of relevant experience who can independently lead the design and build of side-by-side extensions and cloud-native applications on SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) integrated with SAP S/4HANA. The role requires strong customer-facing ownership, hands-on development skills, and the ability to guide teams through architecture, build, testing, and go-live with a clean-core mindset. Lead end-to-end development of BTP applications and extensions integrated with SAP S/4HANA. Design extension architecture aligned to clean-core and upgrade-safe principles (side-by-side). Build backend services using SAP CAP (Node.js/Java) and model data using CDS artifacts. Implement secure connectivity and integrations using Destinations, Connectivity Service, and Cloud Connector. Develop APIs and integration patterns (OData/REST/SOAP), and work with Integration Suite/CPI and API Management where applicable. Build UI on BTP using SAPUI5/Fiori Elements (when in scope) and integrate with CAP/OData services. Implement security using XSUAA/IAS concepts, role collections, and authorization annotations. Package and deploy Multi-Target Applications (MTA), manage CF services (HANA Cloud, XSUAA, Destination), and support Dev/QA/Prod releases. Establish development standards, code reviews, and performance best practices; mentor team members. Support SIT/UAT, cutover, go-live, hypercare and production stabilization

Key Responsibilities:. Serve as primary BTP technical SME for the customer and program leadership. Create and govern technical architecture/design documents and build standards for BTP solutions. Develop CAP services with actions/functions/handlers and robust error handling and observability. Integrate with S/4HANA and enterprise landscape using APIs, events, and middleware patterns. Drive CI/CD and DevOps alignment (pipelines, quality gates, transport/landscape movement). Collaborate with S/4 functional/technical teams, security, integration, and basis/cloud operations. Requirements:. Minimum 1015+ years of overall development/ERP experience with strong focus on SAP BTP. Proven experience delivering SAP BTP applications using CAP (Node.js/Java). Strong experience with SAP BTP services: HANA Cloud, XSUAA, Destination, Connectivity, Cloud Foundry runtime. Experience integrating with SAP S/4HANA using OData/REST/SOAP APIs, IDocs/RFC (as applicable). Exposure to Integration Suite/CPI and API Management is preferred. Experience with SAPUI5/Fiori Elements for BTP-hosted UIs (preferred). Strong communication, leadership, and customer-facing skills with independent ownership. Project-Specific Requirements:. Experience designing and delivering side-by-side extensions for large S/4 programs. Hands-on experience with destinations, cloud connector setup collaboration, and secure connectivity patterns. Experience with event-driven patterns (e.g., Event Mesh) is a plus. Ability to coordinate multi-vendor teams and manage dependencies across UI, integration, and backend. Experience working in Agile/Scrum or SAFe delivery models.
