Job Title: SAP ABAP Developer Company: adesso India Job Category: SAP ABAP Roles & Responsibilities: YOUR ROLE * Design and develop ABAP\-based SAP solutions: Develop and maintain custom reports, enhancements, interfaces, conversions, forms, workflows, CDS views, APIs, and other ABAP\-based solutions in line with business and technical requirements. * Build SAP Fiori and SAPUI5 applications: Design, develop, configure, and enhance user\-friendly SAP Fiori applications and SAPUI5 interfaces, including integration with SAP Gateway, OData services, and launchpad capabilities. * Deliver extensions using clean\-core principles: Develop side\-by\-side and in\-app extensions in accordance with SAP clean\-core principles, ensuring that custom developments are sustainable, upgrade\-safe, performant, and aligned with the SAP RISE operating model. * Develop and govern SAP integrations: Design and implement technical integrations between SAP systems and external applications using appropriate technologies, APIs, IDocs, RFCs, OData services, middleware, and event\-based integration patterns. * Ensure development quality, testing, and performance: Apply development best practices, perform code reviews, execute unit and integration tests, analyze performance, resolve defects, and ensure that delivered solutions meet functional, technical, and non\-functional requirements. * Support releases, operations, and continuous improvement: Support transport and release management, production readiness, incident resolution, root\-cause analysis, technical documentation, and the continuous improvement of SAP applications and development processes. * End\-to\-end accountability for SAP custom development: Act as the primary owner for the technical design, build, quality, documentation, and maintenance of custom ABAP and SAP Fiori developments across SAP environments. * Define the target\-state SAP development framework: Develop development principles, coding standards, architecture guidelines, documentation templates, quality gates, KPIs, and governance processes aligned with enterprise IT requirements. * Implement and govern ABAP development capabilities: Ensure that ABAP developments, enhancements, reports, forms, interfaces, and technical objects are designed, developed, tested, and documented according to agreed standards. * Implement and govern SAP Fiori capabilities: Ensure that SAP Fiori applications, SAPUI5 components, OData services, launchpad configuration, and user\-experience requirements are delivered consistently and integrated effectively with SAP backend processes. * Manage technical risks, defects, and development backlog: Identify, assess, prioritize, and resolve technical risks, code defects, performance issues, integration issues, and development dependencies while maintaining a transparent backlog and remediation roadmap. * Coordinate technical delivery with project stakeholders: Collaborate closely with functional consultants, solution architects, security experts, basis teams, integration teams, business stakeholders, system integrators, and SAP RISE\-related parties to ensure aligned technical delivery. * Support secure change and project delivery: Embed development, testing, security, performance, documentation, transport, and release requirements into projects, integrations, and change initiatives. * Design and establish the SAP development operating model: Define and implement development processes, standards, governance structures, quality controls, documentation, and tool usage required for a new SAP RISE landscape. * ABAP Development Expertise: Deep knowledge of ABAP, object\-oriented ABAP, ABAP Dictionary, reports, enhancements, BAdIs, user exits, BAPIs, RFCs, IDocs, forms, background processing, debugging, and performance optimization. * SAP Fiori \& SAPUI5 Development: Strong practical experience developing and enhancing SAP Fiori applications using SAPUI5, Fiori elements, SAP Business Application Studio, SAP Fiori tools, responsive design principles, and SAP Launchpad integration. * SAP Gateway \& OData Services: Ability to design, build, expose, consume, test, and maintain OData services using SAP Gateway, including service modeling, data provider implementation, error handling, authorization integration, and performance optimization. * SAP Extension Architecture \& Clean Core: Experience designing sustainable SAP extensions using clean\-core principles, including in\-app extensibility, side\-by\-side extensibility, released APIs, SAP Business Technology Platform capabilities, and upgrade\-safe development approaches. * SAP Integration Development: Practical knowledge of SAP integration technologies and patterns, including APIs, REST, SOAP, OData, IDocs, RFCs, middleware platforms, asynchronous communication, error handling, and monitoring. * Development Quality \& Testing: Expertise in code\-quality practices, ABAP Test Cockpit (ATC), code inspector, unit testing, automated testing, technical testing, debugging, code reviews, defect management, and performance analysis. * SAP Technical Architecture Knowledge: Understanding of SAP S/4HANA architecture, SAP Fiori architecture, SAP BTP, SAP RISE operating models, transport management, system landscapes, and the interaction between frontend, backend, integration, and security components. * Greenfield Transformation \& Delivery: Proven ability to establish development standards and processes, work in agile or hybrid project environments, manage dependencies, deliver under time constraints, and support a greenfield SAP implementation from build through go\-live.
