Raw Material Procurement Manager

We are seeking an experienced procurement professional to manage the end-to-end procurement of raw materials for a regulatory pharmaceutical manufacturing facility. The incumbent should have hands-on experience in sourcing pharmaceutical raw materials, vendor management, SAP, and procurement processes in a regulated environment (USFDA/EU-GMP/MHRA/WHO-GMP).

Key Responsibilities. Manage end-to-end procurement of pharmaceutical raw materials (API, excipients, and critical materials) to ensure uninterrupted production. Source, evaluate, and develop vendors in line with quality, cost, and delivery requirements. Float RFQs, negotiate commercial terms, finalize purchase orders, and monitor timely deliveries. Coordinate with Production Planning, QA, QC, Warehouse, and Finance for smooth procurement operations. Work extensively on SAP (MM Module) for Purchase Requisitions, Purchase Orders, Goods Receipt coordination, and procurement tracking. Ensure procurement activities comply with regulatory standards including USFDA, EU-GMP, MHRA, WHO-GMP, and company SOPs. Maintain optimum inventory levels while avoiding stock-outs and excess inventory. Monitor supplier performance with respect to quality, delivery, responsiveness, and cost competitiveness. Resolve procurement issues related to shortages, delayed deliveries, and quality concerns. Support vendor qualification, audits, and documentation as per regulatory requirements. Generate procurement MIS reports and support cost optimization initiatives. Desired Candidate Profile. Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy, Chemistry, Science, Engineering, or a related discipline. Minimum 5 years of experience in Raw Material Procurement within a pharmaceutical manufacturing company. Mandatory experience in a Regulatory Manufacturing Plant (USFDA, EU-GMP, MHRA, WHO-GMP, or equivalent). Hands-on working knowledge of SAP MM is essential. Strong understanding of pharmaceutical raw materials, APIs, excipients, and procurement processes. Experience in vendor development, commercial negotiations, inventory planning, and regulatory documentation. Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
