Production and Planning Engineer

Purpose of the Role:. The Planning Engineer is responsible for planning, scheduling, and monitoring project/production activities to ensure timely completion and optimum resource utilization. The role includes preparing work plans, tracking progress, coordinating with departments, and ensuring smooth execution of operations as per project timelines and organizational requirements.

Key Responsibilities:. Prepare production/project plans and schedules as per requirements. Monitor progress and ensure timely completion of activities. Coordinate with production, procurement, and other departments for smooth operations. Track material availability and resource utilization. Prepare planning reports, MIS, and progress updates. Identify delays and support corrective action planning. Maintain planning records and documentation. Competencies:. Technical. Knowledge of production/project planning and scheduling processes. Proficiency in MS Excel, ERP/SAP, and planning tools. Understanding material planning, resource allocation, and progress tracking. Knowledge of MIS reporting and planning documentation. Behavioral. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Good communication and coordination abilities. Time management and organizational skills. Desired Qualification:. B Tech (Mechanical/ Production). Skills & Experience:. 6-8+ Years of experience. Working Experience in Railways/Freight Cars/Rolling Stock/Wagon Industry is mandatory.
