Roles & Responsibilities:
We are looking for an exceptional Principal Data Scientist to lead the design and delivery of advanced AI solutions, with a particular focus on Generative AI, agentic systems and production\-grade RAG architectures.
This is a highly hands\-on technical role. The successful candidate will remain close to the code while providing technical leadership, owning complex solution domains and translating real business problems into scalable AI products.
\- Lead AI solutions end\-to\-end, from experimentation and architecture through production deployment, monitoring and continuous improvement.
\- Provide technical leadership and mentorship while remaining an active hands\-on contributor.
\- Strong hands\-on Python skills and current software engineering practices, including APIs, testing, version control, CI/CD and maintainable production code.
\- Demonstrated technical leadership, team leadership or ownership of a significant technical domain.
This opportunity is particularly suited to a senior technical leader who still enjoys building, coding and solving difficult AI problems directly rather than operating primarily as a people or vendor manager.

Requirements
\- 8\+ years of relevant experience across Data Science, Machine Learning, AI Engineering or closely related areas.
\- Strong recent experience building complex agentic RAG systems, beyond standard question\-answering chatbots.
\- Experience operating in demanding, technically sophisticated environments.
\- Broader experience across different organisations, products or business domains is highly valued.
\- Experience productising AI and ML solutions within the Microsoft Azure ecosystem.
\- Cloud\-native architecture and deployment experience.
\- Experience taking Generative AI products from prototype through to reliable production use.
