Head Operations

To lead and manage people, operations strategies, and key initiatives aimed at achieving production efficiency, product quality, and profitability. The role involves integrating cross-functional processes, driving manufacturing excellence, and promoting a culture of continuous improvement to meet organizational goals in safety, cost, delivery, and sustainability. Operational Strategy and Execution. OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) Monitoring. Track, analyze, and improve OEE across all production lines by minimizing equipment downtime, optimizing cycle times, and improving first-pass yield. Develop and implement operational strategies aligned with the business plan. Optimize resource allocation and team performance to meet customer expectations in terms of quantity, quality, and delivery. Minimize waste and inefficiencies to strengthen competitive positioning. Production Planning Project Management & Adherence. Evaluate feasibility of new projects; lead technical evaluations and vendor discussions. Plan and execute projects (e.g., boiler, cookers, ETP upgrades) within time and budget. Communicate project status to stakeholders. Develop daily, weekly, and monthly production plans. Ensure adherence to planned vs actual targets, reduce backlogs, and enhance on-time delivery rates. Productivity & Efficiency Improvement. Maintain and improve product efficiency through process optimization, capacity balancing, and shift-wise monitoring. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to sustain and exceed target production efficiency. Manpower Utilization & Optimization. Ensure optimal deployment of manpower across shifts and departments. Implement multiskilling and lean workforce strategies to enhance flexibility and reduce idle time. Cost leadership & Management Fixed & Variable. Monitor and control both fixed and variable costs, including raw materials, utilities, consumables, and labour. Implement cost-saving projects without compromising quality or safety. Identify key cost drivers and execute cost reduction strategies. Promote cost consciousness across teams. Lead cost management and review meetings. Regularly analyze and report manpower, material, energy, and maintenance costs. Identify deviations and execute corrective actions to maintain budget compliance and operational sustainability. Asset and Equipment Management. Drive preventive, predictive, and autonomous maintenance to increase machine uptime. Monitor and audit maintenance processes and performance. Health, Safety, and Environment (HSSE). Ensure compliance with all safety laws and internal policies. Set and review safety targets across departments. Foster a safety-first culture and ensure a healthy work environment. Sustainability and Environmental Compliance. Lead initiatives to reduce energy and water consumption, minimize waste, and ensure regulatory compliance under ESG/BRSR frameworks. Promote sustainable operations aligned with corporate goals.. Implement and monitor SOPs and sustainability initiatives. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS. Level of Education. B.E./B. Tech in Mechanical Engineering. Experience. Must have prior work experience across both the African and Indian regions . 20+ years of relevant experience in large-scale manufacturing operations, preferably in the oil refinery or edible oils and fats sector This is a great opportunity to build a career in the SAP PP domain.
