Financial Accountant

Job Title: Financial Accountant Company: Randstad New Zealand SAP Module: SAP FICO Roles & Responsibilities: About The Role I am seeking a Financial Accountant to deliver financial accounting, fixed asset management, and core reporting services. You will maintain balance sheet integrity, oversee land and asset accounting, and support continuous process improvements across finance systems. Key Responsibilities * Financial Reporting & Assets: Manage the Fixed Asset Register, monthly SAP balance sheet and bank reconciliations, GST/FBT tax returns, and CFIS reporting. * Land Accounting & Audit: Oversee land registers, land acquisition accounts, month-end/year-end closures, financial statements, and external audit requests. * Systems & Policy Improvement: Develop and update financial SOPs in line with GAAP/IFRS, ensure statutory compliance, and participate in SAP system enhancement projects. * Stakeholder Support: Provide technical accounting advice to internal teams and manage external relationships with auditors, banks, and government agencies. Qualifications & Experience * Tertiary qualification in Accounting (Chartered Accountant status preferred). * Proven experience in financial accounting, asset management, taxation, and balance sheet reconciliations—ideally within the Public Service. * Hands-on proficiency with large ERP systems and advanced Microsoft Excel skills. * Sound knowledge of IFRS & accounting standards.
