KEY RESPONSIBILITIES * Lead the design, development and deployment of scalable, production\-grade ML models and data products within a cloud environment * Analyse model output and complex datasets to uncover insights and trends that inform business decisions and drive growth * Design and execute controlled experiments to test new strategies, providing statistically sound recommendations * Collaborate with cross\-functional teams to implement models * Communicate insights and recommendations to stakeholders and decision makers in a clear and concise manner * Drive innovation by identifying new opportunities, data sources and methodologies for improved solutions * Guide, mentor and upskill junior data scientists, fostering a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence * Define and enforce best practices for code quality, version control, model validation and MLOps deployment pipelines Work Location: Parow, Western Cape, South Africa Availability: Full time

* Honours in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Operations Research or a highly quantitative field (Master’s degree advantageous) * 2 years of experience in data science, with at least 2 years in a dedicated senior role * Retail, Customer or Marketing experience is highly advantageous * Technical Skills: * Strong proficiency in Python and SQL * A good understanding of code repositories, git and CI/CD * Experience with machine learning algorithms (regression, classification, clustering, etc.) * Experience with statistical analysis and hypothesis testing * Experience with cloud platforms (preferably GCP) * Familiarity with data visualisation tools (e.g. Data Studio or Power BI) * Experience with model productionisation and model tracking * Soft Skills: * Excellent communication and presentation abilities to convey complex data insights to non\-technical stakeholders * Strong problem\-solving and critical thinking skills to tackle ambiguous business problems * Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a cross\-functional team environment * A self\-driven team player who is results driven, assumes ownership of the given task and is committed to excellence * Intellectual curiosity and a passion for exploring new data sources and methodologies * Adaptability and willingness to learn new techniques and tools as needed * Strong business acumen Key Skills: Machine Learning, Python Salary: Not disclosed
