Job Title: Contracts & Costing Engineer – Turnaround | Qatar Company: Qatar Careers SAP Module: SAP BASIS Roles & Responsibilities: We are looking for an experienced Contracts & Costing Engineer to support the Turnaround Section of a leading petrochemical organization in Qatar. Key Responsibilities * Manage contracting activities for high-value and complex turnaround services. * Review scopes and recommend appropriate enquiry, tendering and contract strategies. * Prepare tender and contracting documentation and support bidder evaluation. * Manage contractor claims, variations, additional works and commercial matters. * Develop and review turnaround cost estimates, budgets and forecasts. * Monitor expenditure, commitments, accruals and budget-versus-actual performance. * Identify cost trends, potential overruns and required corrective actions. * Support turnaround planning, execution monitoring, progress reporting and cost control. * Review contractor turnaround plans, procedures, resources and performance. * Maintain turnaround cost information and historical cost data for future estimates. * Support the 5-year rolling Turnaround Future CAPEX Plan. * Prepare monthly and quarterly cost, progress and management reports. * Coordinate with Finance, Commercial, Supply Chain, Procurement and turnaround stakeholders. Requirements * Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a relevant discipline. * 5–10 years of direct and relevant experience. * Strong experience in Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Refinery, LNG or Fertilizer environments. * Proven Turnaround / Shutdown experience is required. * Experience in turnaround contracting, tendering, contractor evaluation, claims, variations and contract administration. * Strong cost estimation, budgeting, forecasting and cost-control experience. * Experience with turnaround planning, progress monitoring and reporting. * Knowledge of cost databases and cost-management practices. * Knowledge of Zero Base Costing is advantageous. * Working knowledge of SAP PM and SAP MM is preferred. * Strong MS Office skills, particularly Excel. * Good communication and stakeholder-management skills. * Must be currently based in Qatar and available locally.
