Job Title: Backend Engineer, SRA - Promotion (2027 Graduate) Company: Shopee Job Category: Machine Learning Roles & Responsibilities: Job Description * Design and build high\-performance backend services and distributed systems that power personalized vouchers, promotions, and campaign experiences across Shopee’s key product surfaces. * Partner closely with Product, Business, Data Science, Ads, Search, and Recommendation teams to translate marketplace growth opportunities into reliable, scalable, and production\-ready engineering solutions. * Productionize machine learning and optimization capabilities by integrating model serving, experimentation, and decisioning logic into low\-latency online systems. * Apply advanced AI technologies, including LLMs, and AI agents, to improve the efficiency, quality, and automation of e\-commerce campaign operations. * Develop core capabilities for personalized recommendations, promotion and voucher optimization, campaign budget planning, and product demand forecasting. * Ensure production reliability through resilient API design, caching, asynchronous processing, graceful degradation, observability, and continuous performance optimization. Requirements * Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. * Strong foundation in data structures, algorithms, operating systems, computer networks, and computer systems. * Strong programming skills in Go and/or Python, with familiarity with Linux development environments. * Strong problem\-solving, communication, and collaboration skills. * Interest in distributed systems, high\-concurrency architectures, microservices, and scalable backend design. * Self\-motivated, eager to learn, and driven to solve challenging technical problems with measurable business impact. * (Good\-to\-have) Experience or coursework in backend frameworks, distributed data processing, recommender systems, search or ads systems, machine learning platforms.
