Job Description
Job Title: AP & AR Manager, APAC
Company: Industrious Asia Pacific
Job Category: SAP SD
Roles & Responsibilities:
About the Role
As AP \& AR Manager, APAC, you are the first point of contact in the region for anything payables or receivables. You make sure invoices reach the payment queue on time, vendors move onto our systems smoothly, member billing questions are resolved quickly, and local teams know how to get things done. You report to our Associate Director, Finance Operations, who leads AR, billing and AP globally, with a dotted line to our Director of Accounting, APAC, and work closely with the AP and AR managers in the US.
Success looks like vendors who are paid when they expect to be, members who are billed and refunded correctly, and operations colleagues who find finance quick and easy to work with. It matters because every late payment or billing error lands on someone: a vendor waiting on cash, a member who feels let down, or a community manager caught in the middle.
The role also gives you something rare at this level: hands\-on exposure to both sides of the finance cycle, procure\-to\-pay and order\-to\-cash, across several countries at once. You will work with leaders in Operations, Construction, Accounting, and Finance in APAC and the US, and you will have a real voice in how the role, and the region's finance operations, develop as APAC grows.
You start the morning with a message from a project manager: a construction vendor in Singapore says they have not been paid. You check Coupa and find the invoice was never submitted against the purchase order. You get it submitted, follow up with the approver, and add it to this week's priority payment list for the global AP team. By lunchtime the vendor has a clear answer and a payment date.
Later that morning, a Community Manager calls about a member who is upset about a charge on their account. You walk through what happened, help the member set up autopay so it does not happen again, and arrange a fee waiver where policy allows. You also show the community manager how to handle the next one themselves.
In the afternoon you review open accruals and invoices waiting for approval ahead of the month\-end cutoff, and send a short, clear nudge to the department heads who need to act.
As the US team starts their day, you join a call with the global AP and AR managers. You share what you are seeing on the ground, including a billing setup issue that keeps coming up in one market, and agree what to raise with the systems team. On a US public holiday, you might also pick up a few tickets yourself so the region is not left waiting.
* Resolve AP and AR escalations across APAC quickly, as the first point of contact for local teams, vendors, and members.
* Keep invoices flowing into the payment queue on time by making sure local teams submit invoices against purchase orders and approvers act before cutoff, so outstanding accruals stay low.
* Grow the number of vendors transacting through Coupa, and personally support complex or high\-value onboarding.
* Set APAC payment priorities each week with the global AP team, so urgent payments go out without a stream of individual requests.
* Build confidence in our finance systems by coaching operations, construction, and other local teams, as well as vendors, on billing, payments, autopay, and security deposit refunds.
* Direct the global processing team's APAC work, and step into transactions yourself when coverage is tight.
* Bring local insight to global finance and systems leaders, so processes and tools keep improving for APAC markets.
* Support audit requests and compliance for AP and AR in the region.
You Will Love This Role If...
* You would rather fix why an invoice got stuck than process the invoice.
* You stay calm and clear in a difficult conversation with a frustrated vendor or member, and you adapt your approach across markets and cultures.
* You enjoy teaching, and you measure success by how rarely people need to come back to you with the same question.
* You take ownership of an issue until it is resolved, even when the fix sits with someone else.
* You see a role that evolves as an opportunity to shape it, not a problem to be solved.
* You want to understand how a business really runs, from paying vendors to billing customers, across several countries.
* You want to grow with a business that is expanding across Asia Pacific.
This Role Is Probably Not for You If...
* You want a role built mainly around processing transactions. The volume sits with the global team; your job is to keep it moving.
* You want to own payments end to end. For segregation of duties, payment release sits with the global AP team.
* You need a fully defined role from day one. This role is new and will develop as the region grows.
* You prefer working with a team in the same time zone. Your closest colleagues are in the US, so some early\-morning or evening calls come with the job.
