SAP HCM Lead Consultant

Job Title: SAP HCM Lead Consultant. Experience Level: 10+ Years. Location: Bangalore / Chennai / Hyderabad / Pune / Mumbai. Role Overview. We are seeking an experienced SAP HCM Lead Consultant with 10+ years of domain expertise to drive the design, implementation, governance, and support of our Human Capital Management landscape for the ARS Arable Solutions project. In this role, you will act as the principal solution architect and team lead, bridging business requirements with SAP technical capabilities. You will bring rich SAP HCM Functional Knowledge to design end-to-end HR processes, build critical interfaces (especially Time & Attendance), lead custom report development, and guide our S/4HANA implementation. The ideal candidate will serve as the strategic bridge between HR business stakeholders and IT technical teams, overseeing end-to-end module configuration, cross-system integrations, data flows, and team leadership.

Key Responsibilities. End-to-End HCM Functional Ownership. Provide deep functional expertise across all primary SAP HCM processes (PA OM Time Management & Payroll) evaluating HR business models and translating business requirements into optimal SAP functional designs. Lead solution design, system configuration, schema/rule modifications, and testing across Core HR: Personnel Administration (PA) and Organizational Management (OM). Act independently to determine solution methods, conduct impact assessments, and resolve complex architecture bottlenecks. Oversee integration with talent systems (Workday/SuccessFactors / Employee Central, Learning, Performance & Goals). Design operational setups for support across Core HR (OM/PA), Time Management, Payroll, Employee Self-Service (ESS) and Manager Self-Service (MSS) platforms & HR Reporting. S/4HANA Expertise: Direct functional experience designing and working within SAP S/4HANA environments. Deep Functional Expertise: Extensive, hands-on functional mastery of PA, OM, Time Management, Payroll, and ESS/MSS workflows. Interface Building, Integrations & Custom Reporting. Architect and oversee end-to-end custom Interface Building, specifically for Workday, external Time & Attendance, and workforce management tools into SAP HCM. Design robust inbound/outbound integrations using APIs, middleware (SAP CPI/BTP/PI/PO), IDocs, and file-based (SFTP) protocols. Lead custom HR Report Building (Ad-hoc Query, SAP Query, ABAP spec design) and data extraction frameworks for operational and executive reporting. Apply functional understanding of adjacent module touchpoints (such as HR-FI payroll postings, cost centers, symbolic accounts) to maintain cross-system integrity. Team & Project Leadership. Serve as the overall functional lead for the SAP HCM track, owning deliverable quality, architecture decisions, and project timelines. Lead blueprinting, functional specification reviews, change management, and SIT/UAT testing phases. Mentor functional consultants, partner with HR Leadership, and conduct regular governance reviews with implementation partners.
