Lead Data Scientist

The Lead Data Scientist will lead end-to-end data science initiatives from problem framing to deployment and monitoring, design and build production-grade ML/statistical models for credit risk, fraud, and portfolio analytics, analyze large datasets to identify patterns and insights, partner with product and engineering teams to embed models into core platforms, mentor junior data scientists, ensure model robustness and compliance, and stay current with AI/ML advances. The successful candidate will engage closely with business stakeholders to translate analytical requirements into robust, production-ready data solutions that support long-term organizational growth. This position also involves supporting knowledge-sharing sessions, contributing to internal best-practice documentation, and helping to build a culture of continuous learning within the data science team.

Master's/PhD in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or related field with 8+ years of experience in data science including leadership of complex initiatives. Strong grounding in ML algorithms, statistics, and applied AI. Fintech/credit risk/fraud domain exposure preferred. Any Graduate qualification. The ideal candidate will bring a proactive, solutions-oriented approach, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes within agreed timelines. A strong customer-first attitude and willingness to travel to client locations as needed will be an added advantage for this role.
