Sap Abap Consultant

Magellanic Cloud is hiring a SAP ABAP Consultant for an S/4HANA implementation project in Bengaluru, working on a hybrid schedule with immediate joining or a short notice period strongly preferred given the active project timeline. You will design, develop, and maintain SAP ABAP applications specifically within S/4HANA environments, with a notable focus on developing RESTful applications using SAP's RAP model rather than older service-exposure approaches. Creating and enhancing CDS Views, including both analytical and transactional variants, is central to the role, alongside developing and optimizing AMDP procedures for HANA database performance. Building and exposing OData services through RAP and SAP Gateway rounds out the modern development stack this position covers.

This role requires 3-8 years of SAP ABAP experience with specific expertise in S/4HANA, RAP, CDS Views, AMDP, and OData services for modern HANA-native development. Strong Object-Oriented ABAP skills are needed for building reusable, maintainable development components. Practical performance tuning experience using HANA SQL, SQL Trace, ST05, SAT, and Code Inspector is essential given the performance-critical nature of this role. Integration experience using BAPI, RFC, IDoc, and Proxy technologies is required for connecting SAP with external systems.
