Purpose : Lead HR, IR and Administrative operations in the Unit by effective manpower budgeting and planning, driving recruitment activities, PMS processes and implementing training/development programs and managing employee grievances while ensuring adherence with statutory and internal compliances and guidelines.
Key Responsibilities : Manpower Planning, Budgeting and Management:
• Review manpower planning and related budgets basis personnel cost (incl. training and development) calculations (permanent, contract, recruitment, welfare budget)
• Optimize manpower requirement of the breweries based on brewery layout, and labour supply driven by annual agreements for workmen deployment
• Oversee daily attendance and leave management of permanent workmen, assess impact on manpower availability and plan to hire contractual workforce to fill gaps
• Ensure adherence to standards and policies as defined by the Head Office and aligned with Operational Performance Indicators
• Monitor and approve overtime costs being incurred in the cluster; Track budgets monthly, identify deviations and make necessary adjustments
• Oversee processing of payroll and payments based on attendance details of permanent workmen and contractual labor respectively
• Drive implementation of various HR technology platforms across units under purview
Industrial Relations :
• Build and maintain healthy working relationships with the Unions, Regulators and Govt. bodies; Support the Cluster and Unit Heads with wage bill negotiations with the Unions
• Proactively understand issues and requirements from Union stakeholders and employees (on roll and contractual); Facilitate effective grievance resolution
• Ensure effective and clear communication regarding UBL policies and practices to the labours to drive transparency in the system
• Using various HR tools to e.g. people development, continuous development, effective communication and CSR projects to manage various situations
Legal and Statutory Compliances:
• Ensure timely submission and adherence to all statutory compliances (e.g. factories act, contract labour regulation, emp. state insurance act, PF, workmen bonus, gratuity)
• Collaborate with legal team for resolving issues and addressing notices; provide supporting documents and conduct of domestic enquiries (on-roll and contract employees) incase of disruption of brewery operations
• Liaise with various regulatory agencies and government departments to organize inspections, conduct record-checks, obtain necessary approvals etc.
• Provide support and guidance to unit teams in facilitating internal and external audits; Review audit reports and devise corrective action plans
Recruitment and Onboarding:
• Manage end to end recruitment at the brewery for positions upto the M5
• Determine open positions based on vacancies and new positions required to be filled. Raise requisition to the HO for the positions to enable sourcing of potential candidates
Performance Management :
• Monitor performance management process across goal setting, mid-year review and final review in the cluster and ensure timelines are met
• Provide guidance to unit teams in resolving issues faced by departments in uploading goals on the system
Admin Management :
• Understand admin requirements for the plants and draw up related budgets
• Share requirements for canteen with the vendor and conduct technical evaluation to ensure adherence with food safety; Drive adherence to SLAs agreed upon by the vendor and resolve issues, as required
